He attended the University of Tennessee\, Memphis for medical school. Based on his strong interest i n neurodegenerative disorders including movement disorders\, he chose Oreg on Health &\; Science University for internship and residency in neurol ogy. He was asked to stay on for a two-year fellowship in Parkinson’s d isease &\; Movement Disorders and during that time also completed the H uman Investigators Program\, a formal program in clinical research at OHSU . During fellowship Dr. Aldred was mentored by Dr. Jay Nutt\, a pioneer i n levodopa pharmacology\, and worked under his guidance to design and carr y out a small randomized clinical trial on Parkinson's disease medication chemistry testing. They focused on different doses of carbidopa and its ef fect on Parkinson’s symptoms.\n\nDr. Aldred joined Gundersen Health Syst em in La Crosse\, WI and started the movement disorders program after fini shing fellowship. Based on his desire to return to the northwest and deve lop an independent medical practice he moved to Spokane\, WA in 2014.  D r.
