Welcome to the Bluegrass Parkinson's Alliance

Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, BPA

The Bluegrass Parkinson’s Alliance is the oldest organization of its kind in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Formerly the Lexington Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, BPA was created because in the 1960sand 1970s there were no support groups, little information readily available about Parkinson’s Disease and no resources for care partners.

Today the Bluegrass Parkinson’s Alliance works to fulfill its mission of creating a community of hope and encouragement by providing resources and support services to those affected by Parkinson’s Disease.

A well-rounded treatment plan includes a good amount of exercise and a reduction in stress to help persons with PD lead satisfying and productive lives for years after initial diagnosis.

Physical Health Resources

Neurologists and Movement Disorder Specialists all agree, exercise and physical activity is imperative for Parkinson’s Patients.

Mental Health Resources

Each month, the Bluegrass Parkinson’s Alliance hosts support group Discussion Meetings.

Care Partner Resources

Care Partners are invited to attend monthly Daytime or Evening Discussion Groups.
